Alexander Brothers Face New York Jury Over Alleged Sexual Assaults

Federal prosecutors have charged three New York brothers—real estate brokers Oren and Tal Alexander, and their brother Alon, a security company executive—with sexually assaulting more than a dozen women and girls over more than a decade.

Opening statements are set for Monday, during which prosecutors are expected to tell a jury that the brothers allegedly used their wealth and status to lure women to lavish parties and vacation spots, drug them with cocaine and other substances, and assault them. Court filings claim the brothers targeted women they found on dating apps, through party promoters, or via chance encounters, sometimes covering travel costs. The alleged assaults reportedly occurred from 2008 to 2021 in luxury locations including the Hamptons, Aspen, Las Vegas, Manhattan, and on a Caribbean cruise. Judge Valerie Caproni has allowed several accusers, including minors at the time, to testify under pseudonyms. More than 20 women may take the stand.

Prosecutors say they have text messages, photos, and videos documenting the alleged acts. A jury of six men and six women has been seated, and the trial is expected to last at least a month.

The brothers have pleaded not guilty to charges including sex trafficking and conspiracy. Conviction could bring sentences ranging from 15 years to life in prison. Oren and Alon also face state charges in Florida, and all three are defending multiple civil suits.

Defense lawyers, including those who represented Sean “Diddy” Combs in a recent sex trafficking case, argue the relationships were consensual, the women were not coerced or paid, and the allegations are either old or based on civil lawsuits. A spokesperson for the brothers said, “The evidence will show these were consensual adult relationships, not trafficking, coercion, or drugging. The government’s case relies on hindsight and narrative, not facts.”

The case comes in the wake of the #MeToo movement, highlighting ongoing efforts to prosecute sexual assault and trafficking. Advocates stress the importance of such trials to hold powerful figures accountable and prevent future abuse.

Prosecutors allege the brothers began assaulting women in high school, escalating the behavior into adulthood. Arrested in December 2024, they have been held at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. Their parents, Shlomo and Orly Alexander, have attended hearings regularly, expressing confidence in their sons’ innocence.
